Warner Bros. World on Yas Island Secures the 2026 Applause Award

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Miral has proudly announced that Warner Bros. World Yas Island in Abu Dhabi has earned the esteemed 2026 Liseberg Applause Award, marking a significant milestone as the first theme park in the Middle East to gain this global accolade.

This award is regarded as one of the oldest and most trusted honors within the global attractions sector, celebrating excellence in park management, operational practices, creativity, and overall guest experience.

The accolade was formally presented during the IAAPA Honors gala in Xcaret, Mexico, and was accepted by Hind Galadari, General Manager of Warner Bros. World, alongside Daniel Wills, Executive Director of Projects Delivery at Miral, representing the entire team.

Dr. Mohammad Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, expressed that this achievement reflects the innovation, dedication, and passion of the teams and partners behind Warner Bros. World. He further emphasized that this recognition aligns with Miral’s vision to enhance Yas Island’s standing as a premier global destination for entertainment and leisure, in support of Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030.

Since its establishment in 1980, only 22 theme parks worldwide have been honored with the Applause Award, with a single park selected for each awards cycle. Notable previous winners include Universal Studios Japan, Tokyo DisneySea, and Xcaret Park.

In collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, Warner Bros. World Yas Island stands as the largest indoor theme park in the region, featuring six immersive themed lands, cutting-edge rides, live entertainment, and a variety of family-friendly experiences.

The park is also gearing up for a significant expansion that will introduce a highly anticipated Harry Potter-themed land, as well as two new DC-themed rides, further bolstering its offerings for global visitors.

This latest recognition emphasizes Miral’s ongoing commitment to positioning Yas Island and Abu Dhabi among the world's foremost destinations for tourism and entertainment.
