Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that a major security agreement between Ukraine and the United States is now fully prepared and ready to be signed. He described the document as “100 percent ready” and said it only needs a final decision on when and where the signing will take place.
The agreement is meant to strengthen Ukraine’s security at a time when the country is still facing serious threats due to the ongoing war. According to Zelenskyy, this deal will give Ukraine stronger international support and help protect the country in the future. Once the agreement is signed, it will be sent to lawmakers in both countries for approval.
Zelenskyy made the statement during meetings with European leaders, where discussions focused on security, peace efforts, and Ukraine’s future. He said the agreement with the United States is one of the most important steps Ukraine has taken to protect itself and move closer to long-term stability.
The president also spoke about Ukraine’s wider goals, including joining the European Union. He said EU membership is important not only for economic growth but also for national security. Ukraine hopes to make steady progress toward joining the EU in the coming years.
Meanwhile, diplomatic talks involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia have continued in recent weeks. These talks have not yet led to a peace deal, but officials say they have helped keep communication open and reduce tension. Another round of discussions is expected soon.
A major challenge in peace efforts remains Ukraine’s demand that its borders be fully respected. Zelenskyy has made it clear that Ukraine will not give up any of its territory. This position continues to clash with Russia’s demands, making negotiations difficult and slow.
If approved by both governments, the U.S. security agreement could play a key role in shaping Ukraine’s future. Supporters believe it will strengthen Ukraine’s position on the global stage and help bring lasting peace closer. While challenges remain, the announcement has been seen as a positive sign that diplomatic efforts are moving forward.
