UAE Supports Palestinian State at UN Conference in New York

Post by :

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, led the UAE delegation at a very important international conference held in New York. This conference, called the High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, took place alongside the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The main goal of the conference was to strengthen the world’s commitment to helping Palestinians achieve their own independent state. Countries around the world gathered to discuss ways to ensure that Palestine can exist as a sovereign nation with recognized borders. The conference emphasized that Palestinians should live peacefully and safely alongside Israel.

The UAE has always strongly believed that there can be no true peace in the Middle East unless the Palestinian people have their own state. The country stressed that the two-state solution, which allows Israel and Palestine to coexist peacefully, is the only way to bring lasting stability, security, and prosperity to the region. According to UAE leaders, achieving a two-state solution is also essential for helping Israel integrate better with its regional neighbors.

Many important leaders attended this conference, showing that countries worldwide are taking the issue seriously. Recently, more nations have officially recognized the State of Palestine, which adds strength to international efforts for peace. The UAE welcomed these recognitions, noting that they reflect a shared understanding among countries that only a two-state solution can end decades of conflict, violence, and suffering.

During the conference, the UAE praised the efforts of other leaders who worked hard to make this meeting possible. Special mentions were given to His Highness Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and Emmanuel Macron, President of France, for their strong roles in leading the discussions and promoting cooperation.

Before this conference, the UAE actively supported international decisions in favor of Palestinian rights. Along with 142 other countries, the UAE co-sponsored and voted in favor of a United Nations General Assembly resolution endorsing the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Two-State Solution. This shows the UAE’s commitment to finding real solutions that can improve the lives of Palestinians while promoting peace in the region.

The UAE’s position remains clear: it will continue to support the Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate rights, including self-determination and sovereignty. The country also promised to work closely with regional partners and the global community to bring about a lasting resolution that ends the cycle of conflict. The goal is to create a peaceful, stable, and prosperous future for everyone in the Middle East.

The conference also discussed practical steps to make the vision of two independent states a reality. It was not just a symbolic meeting; countries explored real-world solutions to political, social, and security challenges. The UAE emphasized that long-term peace is possible only if both Palestinians and Israelis can live side by side in dignity and security.

The international support shown at this conference is important. It reflects growing global awareness that peace cannot be achieved through conflict or one-sided solutions. By recognizing the State of Palestine and promoting a two-state approach, countries are showing their commitment to justice, fairness, and stability in the Middle East.

The UAE’s participation also highlights the country’s ongoing diplomatic role in regional and global issues. By engaging with leaders from around the world, the UAE is helping to build bridges, encourage dialogue, and create conditions for sustainable peace. The UAE’s actions demonstrate a balance between supporting Palestinian rights and promoting cooperation with Israel, aiming for a solution that benefits all communities.

This conference is part of a broader global effort to prevent further tensions and conflicts in the region. By coming together, world leaders are showing that dialogue, negotiation, and international law are the only reliable paths to peace. The UAE’s commitment reinforces this approach, showing that lasting peace is not only desirable but achievable with collective effort.

The UAE continues to play a vital role in international diplomacy, especially in matters related to Palestine and regional peace. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s leadership at the UN conference reflects the UAE’s dedication to justice, cooperation, and long-term stability. The country will remain an active partner in realizing the aspirations of the Palestinian people and in promoting a peaceful future for the entire Middle East.
