A significant mass wedding took place in central Gaza on April 24, uniting 300 couples in a heartwarming event backed by the United Arab Emirates through its humanitarian mission, “Gallant Knight 3.”
This remarkable ceremony was part of the “Joy Dress 2” initiative designed to assist young couples in overcoming financial difficulties and embarking on their marital journey.
The event attracted around 20,000 attendees, comprising families, community leaders, alongside members from both local and global organizations, marking one of Gaza's largest mass weddings.
Couples were chosen from thousands who registered in February, prioritizing those who had never been married before and met specific financial criteria.
Beyond the wedding celebration, participants received financial and material assistance to help establish their new homes, covering key wedding costs and essential needs.
The ceremony featured Quran recitations, official marriage declarations, and traditional Palestinian cultural displays, including the vibrant dabke dance. The national anthems of both the UAE and Palestine reverberated through the air, enhancing the joyous occasion.
Officials highlighted that this initiative underscores the continuous humanitarian efforts for Gaza through “Gallant Knight 3,” which has been providing aid since the onset of conflict in October 2023. This mass wedding marks the second event of its kind organized under this program.
Attendees expressed their joy, describing the event as a beacon of hope and solace, particularly for couples who had encountered displacement, injury, or financial hurdles before their marriages.
