The UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure was a key participant at the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition in Rotterdam, a pivotal event that gathers decision-makers, experts, and industry representatives to explore the future of hydrogen and sustainable energy systems.
Additionally, the UAE engaged in the International Hydrogen Trade Forum, where discussions centered on enhancing hydrogen trade avenues and streamlining international supply chain integration.
As noted by the ministry, the UAE’s attendance is indicative of its dedication to establishing itself as a leading global player in low-emission hydrogen, consistent with its National Hydrogen Strategy.
This strategic plan aspires to create a comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem encompassing production, transportation, storage, and utilization, all while promoting the UAE’s objectives towards climate neutrality and energy security.
The ministry emphasized the critical nature of global collaboration among governments, private sectors, financial institutions, and technology firms. Such partnerships are vital for fostering a sustainable global hydrogen economy and facilitating the transition to cleaner, more resilient energy structures.
Moreover, aligning international, regional, and local hydrogen standards was a focal point during the summit. This alignment is crucial for encouraging market expansion and accelerating cross-border hydrogen trade across intricate global supply chains.
The UAE also highlighted its ongoing initiatives in promoting decarbonization across key industries. This includes developing frameworks for sustainable aviation fuel, boosting innovation, and forming international collaborations that drive the shift toward a low-emission economy.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to an energy transition strategy rooted in diversification, innovation, and strategic alliances, aiming to elevate its global standing in modern energy sectors while aiding sustainable development objectives and advancing the green economy.
