On Wednesday, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led Eid Al-Adha prayers at the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by senior leaders, officials, and faithful attendees.
Alongside him were Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, along with Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
Several notable figures from the ruling family and high-ranking officials also participated in the prayers, including Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.
The Eid sermon was delivered by Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, the Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, who emphasized the significance of honesty and sincerity in nurturing resilient societies and thriving nations.
In his sermon titled “Our Eid is sincerity and sacrifice,” Dr. Al Darei discussed the pivotal role of honesty as the cornerstone of trust and stability. He underscored that the UAE's leadership has built the nation upon the core values of honesty, unity, and commitment, propelling the country toward unprecedented progress.
He further noted that true honesty involves loyalty to one's homeland and the diligent service to the nation, alongside nurturing the younger generation with sound values and fulfilling one's responsibilities.
After the prayers, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed greeted worshippers, sharing in the festive spirit of Eid.
In a moment of reflection, the UAE President along with the attending Sheikhs recited Surah Al Fatiha in honor of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
