The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club has confirmed the organization of the second round of the UAE Formula 4 Powerboat Championship. This thrilling event invites local and international competitors to the scenic Abu Dhabi Corniche on Saturday and Sunday, under the auspices of the UAE Marine Sports Federation and with oversight from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
Participants from the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Sudan, Italy, and Norway are all expected to join, showcasing a rich variety of talent. On Saturday, more than ten boats will compete in official practice and qualifying sessions, culminating in the main race on Sunday, where winners will be celebrated.
The club emphasized that they are taking significant steps to ensure the event meets international standards, incorporating cutting-edge tracking, safety, and officiating systems to guarantee fair and secure racing conditions. This undertaking underscores Abu Dhabi’s ascent as a prominent venue for major international marine sports.
Thani Al Qemzi, Executive Director of Team Abu Dhabi and Modern Marine Sports, remarked that the Formula 4 Championship bolsters Abu Dhabi’s standing as a global center for modern powerboat racing. He noted that hosting such prestigious events demonstrates the UAE’s leadership in the marine sports arena both regionally and internationally.
According to Al Qemzi, the two-day structure allows athletes to showcase their utmost capability while providing audiences with a comprehensive experience of high-caliber racing. Anticipated to draw a diverse crowd, including sports lovers, families, and international tourists, the event aims to further establish Abu Dhabi as a premier destination for competitive marine activities.
The Formula 4 Powerboat Championship aligns with the UAE’s ambitions to cultivate modern marine sports, promoting involvement at all levels and demonstrating the nation’s commitment to extraordinary sporting events.
