The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned the attack on a humanitarian convoy in North Darfur. This convoy was carrying aid from UNICEF and the World Food Programme (WFP) to help people in need.

The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is very serious to hurt humanitarian workers who risk their lives to help others. They said this attack breaks international laws that protect people working in aid missions. The ministry stressed that all humanitarian workers must be respected and kept safe.

The UAE also called on the two groups fighting in Sudan to stop ignoring the suffering of the Sudanese people. The ministry asked them to follow international laws and agreements they made before, like the Jeddah Declaration and plans from the ALPS Group, which work to save lives and bring peace in Sudan.

The UAE said it is important to act quickly to protect civilians and to allow aid to reach those in need without any obstacles. The ministry highlighted the UAE’s strong commitment to help find a peaceful end to the war in Sudan. They believe an immediate ceasefire and civilian protection are very important.

The UAE will continue to work with other countries and organizations to bring stability and peace to Sudan and to support the people affected by this crisis.
