The UAE Cybersecurity Council has marked a pivotal advancement in its capability to handle post-quantum security challenges. At the CyberQ 2025 event, taking place in Abu Dhabi on November 26-27, the Council revealed its ongoing partnership with QuantumGate, supported by ATRC, focusing on laying the groundwork for practical implementation. This collaboration aims to fortify the UAE against potential quantum decryption threats impacting essential sectors.
This alliance between the Cybersecurity Council and QuantumGate, a VentureOne subsidiary, is set to expedite the country's shift towards quantum-safe security. The initiatives will center around identifying and managing risks associated with novel quantum decryption technologies, thereby safeguarding national security, financial frameworks, and other critical areas from the challenges posed by the next generation of cyber threats.
The upcoming phase of this initiative will roll out through three pivotal programs: the National Information Assurance Programme, the National Cybersecurity Index Platform, and the National Post-Quantum Migration Programme.
Through the National Information Assurance Programme, both the Council and QuantumGate will bolster essential security protocols and increase resilience within both public and private sectors. The National Cybersecurity Index Platform will deliver a bird's-eye view of preparedness at the national level, improving the metrics for measuring, monitoring, and understanding cybersecurity readiness.
The National Post-Quantum Migration Programme will focus on pinpointing vulnerable cryptographic resources, establishing migration priorities, and guiding organizations on securing long-lasting data. By setting clear standards, offering sector-wide guidance, and creating migration strategies, the UAE is transitioning from mere awareness to actionable cybersecurity practices. As a result, the UAE is positioning itself among the first countries globally to adopt a comprehensive, coordinated model for post-quantum security.
Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, stated, "Our objective is to foresee, not just respond. With the state-of-the-art capabilities from QuantumGate propelling our national initiatives, the UAE is establishing quantum-safe defenses today to protect its critical infrastructure against emerging threats."
Moreover, this collaboration will also incorporate additional QuantumGate technologies within national strategies. Among these are the Crypto Discovery Tool (CDT), which provides comprehensive oversight of cryptographic assets; QSphere, a quantum-resilient VPN and data protection system; and Salina and Secure VMI, which guarantee security for enterprise and government frameworks beyond post-quantum safety.
Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of QuantumGate, remarked, "Our partnership with the Cybersecurity Council has evolved from research to extensive deployment. Together, TII’s cryptography platforms and QuantumGate's security solutions are now operational across national infrastructure, shielding the UAE from emerging quantum challenges."
This enduring partnership underscores the UAE's aspirations to lead both regionally and globally in post-quantum cybersecurity. Through the synergy of governmental strategy and national technological expertise, the UAE is crafting a secure digital landscape for the future.
Through synchronized execution and advanced quantum-safe readiness, the Cybersecurity Council and QuantumGate are fortifying the nation’s capability to secure sensitive information, boost overall resilience, and ensure the UAE stays at the forefront of cybersecurity advancements in the quantum realm.
