TIME100 Impact Awards Recognizes Trailblazers in Abu Dhabi

The inaugural TIME100 Impact Awards took place on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi to honour exceptional global leaders who have significantly impacted their sectors and communities. Esteemed guests included Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, as well as TIME CEO Jessica Sibley and various industry experts. The awardees featured Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and founder of Seven Seven Six and Athlos; Jamie Salter, Founder and CEO of Authentic Brands Group (ABG); Kate Kallot, Founder & CEO of Amini Tech; and Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing.

Dr. Al Zeyoudi commended the honorees for their contributions, which embody the fast-evolving landscape of technology, business, science, and societal advancement. He underscored that the UAE serves as a premier platform for showcasing innovations that meld economic prosperity with inclusive opportunities for all residents. The awardees conveyed their thoughts on leadership challenges, innovation's vital role, and the significance of perseverance and resilience in their journeys.

In his remarks, Alexis Ohanian highlighted the potential in identifying new avenues, particularly in women's sports, which he believes represents the next crucial business opportunity. Kate Kallot shared her vision for fostering an AI ecosystem to assist smallholder farmers and promote the Global South. Zak Brown elaborated on the art of assembling exceptional teams to thrive in Formula One, while Jamie Salter pointed to calculated risk-taking as essential for creating a $32 billion global brand. Each honoree expressed gratitude towards TIME, their event sponsors Capital.com and NMDC Group, and the UAE for their ongoing support of their visions and accomplishments.

The awards were supported by Capital.com, a prominent e-trading platform making strides in the UAE, along with NMDC Group, an international energy, marine, and engineering firm. Both companies emphasized the critical role of leadership, innovation, and social responsibility in crafting a forward-looking society. This event illustrated how aspiration, collaboration, and resolve can turn concepts into impactful realities, echoing the UAE's commitment to fostering global advancement and innovation.
