Thailand’s Department of Labour Protection and Welfare has initiated the “End Child Labour 2026” campaign, marking a significant effort to eliminate child labour and uphold children's rights across the nation. This awareness campaign will take place throughout June, aiming to engage businesses, educational institutions, students, employers, and the wider community.
Rear Admiral Saroj Khomkai, the Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, remarked that the campaign aligns with World Day Against Child Labour, occurring annually on June 12. Authorities aspire for this initiative to amplify public consciousness and unite various sectors of society in fostering a child labour-free Thailand.
Running from June 1 to June 30, 2026, under the theme “End Child Labour 2026,” participants are encouraged to demonstrate their support by capturing photographs with the official campaign emblem at workplaces, schools, or community venues. Additionally, individuals are invited to create awareness materials, including posters and video clips advocating against child labour.
A major public event in celebration of World Day Against Child Labour will occur on June 12 at Surasakmontri School, commencing at 1:30 PM. This event will also be broadcast live via the official Facebook page of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, ensuring that people throughout Thailand can engage online.
The department invites students, university groups, employers, and organizations to share their campaign efforts on social media with the hashtag #EndChildLabour2026. Authorities believe that social media involvement can significantly enhance awareness and motivate broader public engagement in the protection of children against exploitation.
Participants can document and submit their campaign activities or online engagement through a Google Form from June 12 to July 1, 2026. Those who meet the criteria will receive an electronic certificate from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare acknowledging their contributions.
The Labour Department has highlighted that eliminating child labour necessitates collaboration from all segments of society. Officials have stated the importance of nurturing children in safe, supportive environments, which are essential for the nation’s future progress and fostering a more equitable and responsible society in Thailand.
