Supreme Court Supports Electoral Roll Updates

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court endorsed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls being undertaken by the Election Commission of India, highlighting its significance in reinforcing the integrity of elections in the nation. This ruling was announced by a Bench chaired by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant.

The court dismissed objections from petitioners who argued that the electoral roll revision was a covert attempt at conducting citizenship validations.
