In New Delhi, the 54th UAE National Day was celebrated in full vigor on Monday, with Union Minister Piyush Goyal attending the event, symbolizing the deepening ties between India and the United Arab Emirates. Hosted by UAE Ambassador Dr. Abdulnasser Jamal Alshaali, the gathering featured diplomats, officials, and members of both the Indian and Emirati communities.
Goyal emphasized the alignment of India’s long-term vision, Vikasit Bharat 2047, with the UAE’s national plan, We the UAE 2031. He expressed that both nations are committed to advancing mutual progress and prosperity for their citizens.
A key highlight of the evening was the growing educational collaboration. Goyal pointed out that top Indian institutions such as IIT, IIM, and IIFT are establishing campuses in Dubai. He believes this partnership sets a new standard for international academic collaboration, further enhancing people-to-people connections.
Later, Goyal shared on X his appreciation for the warm welcome from the UAE envoy, describing the India-UAE relationship as one built on trust, innovation, and a shared future vision.
Annually, the UAE observes National Day on December 2, commemorating the historic union formed in 1971, when Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah united to create the federation. Ras Al Khaimah followed in 1972, finalizing the seven-emirate nation as it is known today.
The event in Delhi served as a testament to the significant strides made in the India-UAE partnership and the promising avenues ahead as both countries continue to enhance collaboration across various sectors including trade, education, culture, and technology.
