His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's ruler, has assessed the ongoing developments of the AED500 million Al Mamzar Beach project, a vital component of the extensive AED3 billion Dubai Beaches initiative.
Accompanying him during the review were notable royal family members, including Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed, and Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed, along with key Dubai officials.
Sheikh Mohammed articulated that this project is pivotal in achieving Dubai’s aspiration to be the leading global city for living by 2040. He elaborated that the plan aims to bolster beach capacity by 170% for both residents and visitors.
Spanning approximately 4 million square feet, the Al Mamzar Beach project is projected to draw as many as 7 million visitors annually following its completion.
According to Dubai Municipality, the project will introduce 35 cutting-edge service and leisure facilities adhering to international standards, ensuring full accessibility for people of determination.
Noteworthy features include the world’s inaugural 24/7 women-only beach, promoting night swimming in a secure and private environment.
The development will also present a floating walkway at Al Mamzar Lagoon, a first for the region, alongside a waterfront dining establishment and various leisure spaces.
The project will incorporate over 5.5 kilometers of pathways for walking, running, and cycling, linking Al Mamzar Lagoon, the corniche, and Al Mamzar Beach Park, thus cultivating a vibrant beachfront lifestyle.
Smart city technologies, including artificial intelligence and Internet of Things systems, will be integrated to enhance safety, emergency responses, and operational efficiencies at the beach.
Al Mamzar Lagoon Beach will span 2.75 million square feet, offering a 300-meter night swimming section, diverse sports facilities, water activities, and shaded lounging areas. Meanwhile, Al Mamzar Corniche will extend 1.25 million square feet, featuring a private women’s beachfront, artistic walkways, and event venues.
Additionally, Dubai Municipality has outlined plans for investment opportunities in sectors like retail, dining, water sports, and recreational services to engage private sector stakeholders.
To enhance coastal resilience and promote environmental preservation, around 350,000 cubic meters of sand have been utilized for fortifying the shoreline.
Officials remarked that this initiative is integral to Dubai's long-term vision of improving living standards, boosting tourism, and crafting exceptional sustainable beachfront locales.
The Al Mamzar Beach project is slated to launch soon, positioning itself as one of Dubai’s prominent family-oriented seaside destinations.
