The Cabinet of Qatar convened on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, for its routine gathering.
Opening the meeting, the Cabinet recognized the unwavering dedication of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in fostering peace, enhancing dialogue, and addressing regional tensions. Such initiatives are deemed vital for the preservation of both regional and global stability, while also ensuring uninterrupted energy resources through essential maritime channels.
The Cabinet brought attention to various diplomatic efforts made under the Amir's guidance, including a recent visit to Muscat to discuss matters with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, alongside meetings with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President of the European Council Antonio Costa in Doha. Additionally, he took part in a collaborative session in Antalya, Türkiye, with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistan’s Prime Minister during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026. A meeting with Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan also occurred in Doha.
The Cabinet expressed optimism for continued support towards the mediation efforts aimed at reinforcing the ceasefire between the United States and Iran. Emphasis was placed on maintaining genuine negotiations to foster enduring peace, uphold regional stability, and protect the welfare of the local populace.
The Cabinet further deliberated on a suite of agenda items, including a proposed amendment to specific elements of Law No. 11 of 2016 related to the State Audit Bureau, and endorsed the move to join the International Transport Forum (ITF).
In addition to these, the Cabinet assessed three reports, determining suitable actions regarding them. These reports pertained to the outcomes of participation in the Real Estate Future Forum held in Riyadh in January 2026, involvement in the 28th extraordinary meeting of the GCC Transport Ministers Committee in Bahrain in March 2026, and Report No. 19 from the National Committee for Civil Aviation Security.
