His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, was present at the closing ceremonies of the 17th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Held at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, the event attracted around 10,000 competitors from over 130 nations, underscoring the championship's evolution into a prominent international sporting occasion.
During the festivities, Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed recognized the champions in the professional black belt categories. His attendance and endorsement showcased the UAE’s steadfast dedication to advancing jiu-jitsu on both national and global levels. He commended the seamless execution of the tournament, affirming that it mirrors the UAE leadership's ambition to nurture athletes and enhance sports within the nation.
The championship's final day saw the presence of various dignitaries and sports officials. Among those in attendance were Sheikh Zayed bin Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Excellency Sheikh Suhail Bin Butti Suhail Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector at the General Authority of Sports; Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum; and Sheikh Tariq Bin Faisal bin Khalid Al Qassimi.
Additionally, His Excellency Abdulmunem Alhashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, a pivotal figure in regional and international jiu-jitsu circles; His Excellency Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; and His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council were also in attendance.
The event benefited from the support of senior officials from national sports organizations, cultural institutions, and leading corporations, with representatives from the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, ADNOC, and Palms Sports also present. Their involvement highlighted the strong partnership among sports entities, government sectors, and key collaborators.
Concluding the championship were jubilant celebrations, marking another triumphant edition of one of the largest jiu-jitsu showcases globally. The UAE's ongoing investment in the sport reinforces Abu Dhabi's status as a key player in martial arts and a prime venue for top-tier sports events.
