Meetings on Defence in Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan and Armenia's Minister Discuss Cooperation

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, engaged in discussions with Suren Papikyan, Armenia's Defence Minister, during the ongoing Dubai Airshow at Dubai World Central, which will conclude on November 21.

Sheikh Hamdan extended a warm welcome to the Armenian delegation, emphasizing the robust ties shared between the two nations. He pointed out the mutual commitment to enhance collaboration in defence, technology, and emerging industries, noting that stability is crucial for sustainable economic development and future progress.

Minister Papikyan expressed Armenia's gratitude for the UAE's ongoing support, highlighting his country’s eagerness to further develop the existing economic, cultural, and technological partnerships. He remarked that the Dubai Airshow serves as a perfect opportunity for defence and aerospace leaders from across the globe to share perspectives and innovate new cooperative pathways.

Their talks emphasized the enhancement of both conventional and advanced defence capabilities, the integration of modern systems, and the importance of effective training programmes to ensure personnel can utilize cutting-edge technologies efficiently. The meeting also covered insights into regional and global scenarios, focusing on initiatives to promote peace and stability.

Attendees included high-ranking UAE officials such as Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; and Major General Khalifa Rashid Al Hamli, Director of the Office of the Minister of Defence.
