Rodgers Powers Steelers to Victory, Dolphins' Playoff Dreams End

Post by : Mina Rahman

Aaron Rodgers demonstrated his elite prowess, guiding the Pittsburgh Steelers to a strong 28-15 win against the Miami Dolphins. The 42-year-old quarterback completed an impressive 23 of 27 passes, tossing two touchdowns and making history as the oldest NFL quarterback to finish a game with over 85% completion rate.

This victory keeps Pittsburgh in a prime position at the AFC North summit, holding a narrow lead of one game over Baltimore with just three weeks left in the regular season. Rodgers connected with both Marquez Valdes-Scantling and DK Metcalf for crucial touchdowns, while running back Kenneth Gainwell was instrumental, racking up 126 total yards to drive the Steelers' offense.

On the other hand, Miami saw its playoff aspirations extinguished following a four-game winning streak. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa managed to score two late touchdowns but also marked his 15th interception of the season. The Dolphins struggled in the freezing conditions, failing to score in the third quarter.

Even without All-Pro linebacker T.J. Watt, sidelined due to injury, Pittsburgh's defense rose to the occasion, with Cam Heyward securing a sack that energized the team. Rookie Asante Samuel Jr. also earned a pivotal interception, showcasing the depth and resilience of the Steelers’ roster.

As Pittsburgh eyes a solid playoff placement with three games remaining, Miami must now turn their focus to next season.
