Ranveer Singh’s electrifying spy thriller Dhurandhar continues to captivate audiences, exhibiting remarkable staying power over a month post-release. The film accrued ₹3.6 crore on Day 36, bringing its total to an impressive ₹844.45 crore in India, according to the latest updates from the filmmakers shared via Instagram.
A recent poster breakdown reveals that Dhurandhar earned ₹784.5 crore during its initial five-week run, with ₹56.35 crore attributed to the fifth week, highlighting its box office resilience. The producers encapsulated the film's success with the tagline, “The March of Wrath continues to dominate the box office. Book your tickets. #Dhurandhar Ruling Cinemas Worldwide.”
Released on December 5, Dhurandhar intertwines fictional espionage narrations with real geopolitical events, such as the 1999 IC-814 hijacking and the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
This ensemble drama stars Ranveer Singh as intelligence officer Hamza Ali Mazari, alongside Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait and Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam, among others.
Director Anurag Kashyap recently voiced his thoughts on Dhurandhar, praising its thematic depth. He emphasized that the psychology of a spy or soldier must encapsulate an authentic tension towards the adversary. However, he did critique certain dialogue moments, particularly from R. Madhavan's character and the film's concluding line from Singh, “Ye naya India hai.”
