This accomplishment underscores Qatar’s esteemed status within the global maritime community and reflects the trust bestowed upon it by various nations due to its proactive and responsible involvement in the maritime transport arena. Qatar has been acknowledged for its relentless endeavors in enhancing maritime safety, safeguarding the marine ecosystem, and advancing sustainable shipping systems that conform to international benchmarks.

After the announcement, Qatar’s Minister of Transport, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Thani, expressed his pride in this notable milestone. He indicated that this renewed membership illustrates the world’s recognition of Qatar’s ongoing initiatives aimed at improving the maritime domain. He emphasized that this third election reflects Qatar’s wise leadership, seeking to bolster the nation’s involvement in significant global organizations and establish it as a leading maritime and logistics hub in the region and beyond.

The Minister highlighted that Qatar's position on the Executive Council signifies its firm commitment to the principles and objectives of the International Maritime Organization. He assured that Qatar will persist in supporting the IMO’s mission to promote safe, sustainable, and eco-friendly maritime transportation. He reiterated Qatar’s intention to collaborate closely with fellow member states to foster cooperation, share expertise, and advocate for the enhancement of the global maritime framework.

He applauded the joint efforts of all national entities involved in ensuring this victory, stating that their collaboration embodies Qatar's spirit of unity and determination to attain success on the international stage.

Qatar’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Permanent Representative to the IMO, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani, shared his views on this accomplishment as well. He remarked that this victory is indicative of Qatar’s active participation in global maritime progress. He noted that Qatar’s re-election to the Executive Council is a testament to the international community’s recognition of the country’s significant advancements in port infrastructure, maritime governance, and marine environmental stewardship.

The Ambassador further emphasized that this renewed confidence underscores Qatar’s unwavering dedication to engaging in global maritime policymaking. He highlighted Qatar’s mission to foster constructive collaboration between the IMO and its member states to construct a brighter future for international maritime navigation and transport.

With this new term on the IMO Executive Council, Qatar continues to enhance its presence in specialized United Nations organizations.
