Major Collision Near Selkirk Results in Patient Airlift to Winnipeg

On Sunday morning, a serious vehicle crash occurred west of Selkirk, Manitoba, resulting in at least one person being transported by air to a Winnipeg hospital.

Emergency air ambulance services were called to the location close to the junction of Highway 8 and Highway 67 (Fort Garry Road) around 10 a.m. One individual was swiftly transported to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. No updates have been made available regarding their condition.

Authorities have yet to clarify the circumstances surrounding the accident or disclose details regarding the involvement of any other vehicles or persons.

The intersection was temporarily shut down due to the incident but reopened by early afternoon. Motorists were cautioned to expect possible delays while the site was cleared.

This event raises ongoing concerns about road safety in the area, especially at intersections that experience significant vehicle traffic. Local officials continue to monitor developments and have advised drivers to remain vigilant when traveling in the vicinity.
