India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra once again showed why he’s one of the best in the world. On Friday night in Paris, he won the Paris Diamond League title with a powerful first-round throw of 88.16 meters. This big throw came in his very first attempt and stayed unbeaten throughout the entire event.

Neeraj's first throw set the mood for the night. He launched the javelin to 88.16 meters, taking an early lead. Even though he had three foul throws (called no-marks) in the next rounds, no one else could beat that first effort.

Germany’s Julian Weber tried his best and came close with a top throw of 87.88 meters, earning him second place. Brazil’s Mauricio Luiz da Silva came third with 86.62 meters.

In the first round, Neeraj Chopra was ahead with his 88.16m throw. Weber followed with 87.88m, and Keshorn Walcott from Trinidad and Tobago was third with 80.94m. During the second round, Weber threw 86.20m and Neeraj managed 85.10m, while Walcott improved a bit to 81.66m.

The third round was when Da Silva joined the top three with a throw of 86.62m. Weber kept pushing with throws of 83.13m in the fourth round and 84.50m in the fifth round. But he could not break the 88-meter mark set by Neeraj.

In the final round, Neeraj made a safe throw of 82.89 meters, while Weber and Da Silva finished with 81.08m and 78.56m respectively.

Even though Neeraj had a few foul throws in the middle, his first-round throw was so strong that no one could catch up. That one throw was enough to make him the winner of the competition.

Neeraj Chopra, who has already won two Olympic medals, will next take part in the Neeraj Chopra Classic, a special event named after him. It will be held on July 5. This event was supposed to happen earlier on May 24, but it was postponed due to cross-border issues between India and Pakistan.

Neeraj’s win in Paris is yet another proud moment for India in world sports.
