Kyrgyzstan has made significant strides in reinforcing its law enforcement framework, with Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev inspecting the modernization efforts at several key installations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs during his recent visit to Bishkek.
This inspection coincided with celebrations marking the 35th independence anniversary of the Kyrgyz Republic. During the visit, Kasymaliev assessed the newly enhanced infrastructure, renovated buildings, and cutting-edge technology aimed at bolstering the efficiency of police and security forces nationwide.
A key site of the visit was the “Shumkar” special purpose regiment, which has recently undergone extensive renovations. The facility now boasts a newly constructed barracks, an indoor mini-football area, updated office environments, and a fully revamped gymnasium. Renovation efforts extended throughout the entire complex to elevate daily working and living conditions for law enforcement officers.
Kasymaliev remarked that enhancing the working environment and facilities for law enforcement personnel fosters improved physical preparedness, better professional training, and heightened operational efficiency. Officials are optimistic that the modern infrastructure will also bolster morale and readiness within specialized police units.
The delegation also visited the revamped Expert-Forensic Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which showcased several state-of-the-art systems now utilized in criminal investigations. Interior Minister Ulan Niyazbekov highlighted that the forensic lab has been equipped with advanced molecular genetic technology capable of providing highly accurate forensic analysis.
They also unveiled the “POISK” automated ballistic system and the “Sonda” fingerprint identification system, both aimed at accelerating investigation processes and enhancing evidence accuracy. These technologies conform to international standards, marking a significant advancement in the modernization of Kyrgyzstan’s law enforcement capabilities.
Kasymaliev subsequently visited the Internal Affairs Department building in Bishkek’s Sverdlovsk district, where substantial renovations have recently been finalized. These upgrades included overhauling engineering systems, modernizing electrical frameworks, and enhancing lighting and power supply setups to ensure safer and more productive conditions for police personnel.
At the end of the visit, Adylbek Kasymaliev stressed that fortifying the technical capacity and infrastructure of law enforcement agencies is pivotal for public safety and fostering trust between citizens and police. He noted that contemporary policing demands not only adept officers but also modern equipment and effective operational environments.
The Kyrgyz government remains committed to advancing security infrastructure as part of comprehensive reforms to modernize state entities and enhance public services throughout the nation.
