Saudi Arabia's KSrelief Supports 519 Yemenis at Hadhramaut Rehabilitation Facility

Post by : Mara Rahim

The Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Hadhramaut Governorate has been instrumental in delivering essential medical care to individuals affected by limb loss in Yemen due to the ongoing crisis. With substantial support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the facility catered to 519 individuals throughout October 2025, aiming to facilitate their recovery and reintegration into daily activities.

During October, the center executed a remarkable 1,925 medical services, encompassing the creation of prosthetic limbs, fittings, physical rehabilitation sessions, and comprehensive medical assessments. This initiative seeks to aid both physical and mental recuperation following traumatic injuries.

Among the beneficiaries treated, 64% were male, while 36% were female. The data further indicated that 14% of these patients were displaced persons, in contrast to 86% who were local residents, underscoring the extensive need for medical support across various communities in Yemen.

The center provides critical healthcare that is often unattainable for many Yemenis, including:

  • Designing and modifying prosthetic limbs for individuals who have lost an arm or leg.

  • Training patients in the safe and confident use of their artificial limbs.

  • Conducting physical therapy to rebuild strength and enhance mobility.

  • Providing specialized consultations to track each patient's recovery progress.

These services emphasize long-term recovery and independence. Many patients arrive at the center with mobility challenges; however, post-treatment, they often regain the ability to work, attend school, and engage in everyday activities.

This effort represents the ongoing humanitarian initiatives by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to aid Yemen. Through KSrelief, the Kingdom is committed to supporting hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and healthcare programs to assist those impacted by conflict and displacement. By fortifying the health sector, KSrelief significantly alleviates the hardships faced by countless Yemenis.

The sustained operations of the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center reflect Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to delivering impactful support. The center not only addresses physical traumas but also provides hope to families who have endured loss or disabilities.

The efforts in Hadhramaut showcase the essential role of humanitarian collaborations in times of crisis. This support enables individuals to reconstruct their lives and restore dignity to those injured. With continued backing, the center aims to expand its reach and positively affect more lives across Yemen.
