Featuring Suriya, Karuppu has swiftly become one of the standout Tamil successes of 2026. The fantasy action film has crossed the Rs 100 crore threshold at the Indian box office only six days post its release.
Directed by RJ Balaji, the movie secured Rs 10.3 crore on its sixth day across India. The Tamil version led with contributions amounting to Rs 8.55 crore, while the Telugu dubbed edition added Rs 1.75 crore, boosting the overall earnings.
Debuting strong on May 15 with an opening day collection of Rs 15.5 crore, the film enjoyed a booming weekend, pulling in Rs 24.15 crore on day two and Rs 28.35 crore on day three. Despite some decline during weekdays, the film sustained its robust performance at the box office.
Trade sources indicate earnings of Rs 14.3 crore on day four and Rs 12.75 crore on day five, coupled with another Rs 10.3 crore collected on Wednesday. Consequently, the total net collection in India stands at Rs 105.35 crore.
Internationally, the film has also fared well, accumulating nearly Rs 3 crore in overseas arenas on day six alone. The global gross revenue now stands at Rs 176 crore, with international figures hitting Rs 54 crore.
The Tamil version has maintained high occupancy rates throughout the day, especially notable during night showings with nearly 47 percent full. The Telugu version has also shown solid growth during afternoon and evening screenings.
Apart from Suriya, the cast includes Trisha Krishnan, Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, and Swasika in key roles. Positive word of mouth and audience enthusiasm continue to support the film's ongoing theatrical success.
