Pandemonium on IndiGo Flight as Pilot Declines to Operate Beyond Duty Hours

Post by : Mina Rahman

A turbulent situation unfolded on an IndiGo flight headed from Mumbai to Krabi on Thursday morning when the pilot allegedly declined to operate the aircraft due to exceeding duty hours. Flight 6E 1085, with a planned departure time of 4:05 am, experienced a delay of more than three hours.

Footage from the scene captured heated exchanges between passengers and cabin crew members. Travelers expressed their frustration, accusing the pilot of shirking his responsibilities as his duty time had concluded. One video featured a passenger lamenting about disrupted plans, while another questioned the pilot's absence. An irate passenger was also seen kicking the emergency exit door, reflecting the escalating tension on board.

According to an IndiGo representative, the delay stemmed from a combination of factors, including the late arrival of the previous flight, congested air traffic, and the crew's restrictions on duty hours. Additionally, two passengers were reported for inappropriate behavior during the delay and were escorted off the plane by security, contributing to further hold-ups.

To mitigate inconvenience, the airline provided meals and refreshments to the waiting passengers. IndiGo reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring safety and fostering a respectful atmosphere, extending apologies for the disruptions.

Flight tracking data indicated that, while the aircraft was originally slated to arrive in Krabi by 10 am, it eventually landed around 1 pm, leaving travelers both frustrated and relieved to finally reach their destination.
