Tragic Loss: Indian Student Dies in Kazakhstan Collision

A heartbreaking incident unfolded in eastern Kazakhstan where an Indian medical student, Mili Mohan, aged 25, tragically lost her life in a road accident. The event occurred while 11 students from Semey Medical University were on an excursion, returning near Ust-Kamenagorsk.

In addition to the fatality, injuries were reported among two other students: Ashika Sheejamini Santhosh and Jaseena B. Fortunately, both are currently in stable condition, receiving medical care at City Hospital No. 1 in Ust-Kamenagorsk, as confirmed by embassy officials.

Expressing profound grief over the unfortunate incident, the Indian Embassy issued an official statement via social media, offering condolences to the affected family. They have assured ongoing communication with university representatives, medical facilities, and the families involved.

The families of the injured students have arrived in Kazakhstan, where they are being supported on the ground. Embassy officials are in active collaboration with local authorities to provide essential medical and logistical aid.

Furthermore, steps are being taken to ensure the timely repatriation of Mili Mohan's remains to India. The embassy is dedicated to assisting the grieving families during this challenging period.

The accident occurred in the scenic Altai region, renowned for its stunning landscapes and cultural heritage, shared among Kazakhstan, Russia, China, and Mongolia, with parts designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites.
