Tragic Death of Indian Diplomat in Bangladesh

Post by : Shakul

The diplomatic community in Bangladesh is in shock following the discovery of an Indian diplomat who was found dead at the Indian Assistant High Commission in Chittagong. The official has been identified as Naren Dhar, a protocol officer at the mission.

Local police reported that his body was located early in the day nearby a bathroom door on the second floor of the older visa center within the diplomatic area. Emergency response teams arrived shortly after receiving alerts, recovering Dhar's body by 9:30 am.

His remains have since been transported to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Currently, the specific cause of death remains undetermined, with investigators waiting for the autopsy report to provide further clarity.

Aminur Rashid, an Assistant Commissioner with the City Police, confirmed that Dhar was in his late 30s and served as a protocol officer. Initial assessments pointed towards a potential cardiac event, but authorities emphasized that the conclusive medical report would reveal the true cause of death.

Sources from the government indicated that the Indian High Commission in Dhaka is in communication with the deceased's family. It has been reported that Dhar was originally from Chandigarh, India. Thus far, the Indian High Commission has not issued an official statement regarding this incident.

The unexpected passing of the diplomat has ignited discussions in diplomatic circles, especially due to the sensitive context surrounding diplomatic missions and their security measures. An investigation has commenced to explore all angles of the case.

Authorities have stated that updates will be provided once autopsy results are finalized. For now, the circumstances surrounding the diplomat's death remain an active investigation as officials continue to gather evidence and testimonies from mission personnel.
