India’s Foreign Secretary, Mr. Vikram Misri, had important meetings with top leaders of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. These meetings helped make the strong friendship between India and the UAE even stronger, especially in the areas of safety, peace, and future teamwork.
Mr. Misri first met with Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, who is the UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Co-Existence. During their talk, Mr. Misri thanked the Sheikh and the UAE for giving a warm welcome to the Indian all-party group that recently visited. He also shared how both countries believe in values like peace, understanding, and living together in harmony. These values are important in the close bond between India and the UAE.
In another meeting, Mr. Misri spoke with Mr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi. He is the Chairman of the Defence Affairs, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the UAE's Federal National Council. In their discussion, both sides agreed that fighting terrorism is a big priority. They said they will work together to stop all forms of terrorism. They also talked about how India and the UAE can work more closely through their parliaments (government bodies).
Later, during what is called a "Mid-Year Review" in Abu Dhabi, Mr. Misri met with Ms. Reem Al Hashimy, who is the UAE’s Minister of State for International Cooperation. This meeting focused on checking the progress of current India-UAE projects and discussing new ways to work together in the future. They talked about many areas where both countries can help each other.
These meetings came just after an Indian group of political leaders, led by Shiv Sena Member of Parliament (MP) Shrikant Eknath Shinde, had visited the UAE. That visit mainly focused on ways both countries can fight terrorism together. At that time, UAE leaders had shown strong support for India, especially after India faced some recent security threats. Sheikh Nahyan had clearly said that the UAE stands with India and that both nations will work hand-in-hand to fight terrorism.
This visit by Foreign Secretary Misri shows how India and the UAE continue to build trust and teamwork, not just in security but also in spreading peace and friendly relations.
