In a commanding display, India triumphed over New Zealand by seven wickets in the second T20I match held at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. This victory grants India a 2-0 lead in the ongoing five-match series.

India faced an early challenge in their pursuit of 209 runs, losing Sanju Samson for 6 runs in the first over and Abhishek Sharma for a golden duck shortly after, leaving the team struggling at 8/2.

Nevertheless, Ishan Kishan and skipper Suryakumar Yadav swiftly reversed the tide with a remarkable partnership, amassing 122 runs. Kishan showcased his prowess with a striking 76 off just 32 balls, punctuated by 11 fours and 4 sixes, before he was out to Ish Sodhi in the 10th over.

Yadav remained composed and aggressive, finishing with an unbeaten 82 off 37 balls, hitting 9 fours and 4 sixes. Shivam Dube also contributed an unbeaten 36 off 18 balls as India chased down the target in a mere 15.2 overs.

Earlier, New Zealand posted a total of 208/6 in their 20 overs, with Rachin Ravindra scoring 44 off 26 balls and captain Mitchell Santner remaining not out on 47. Kuldeep Yadav was the standout bowler for India, taking 2 wickets for 35 runs.

Despite the commendable total from New Zealand, their bowlers were unable to contain India’s explosive batting performance.

Brief Scores:

New Zealand: 208/6 (Santner 47*, Ravindra 44; Kuldeep Yadav 2/35)
India: 209/3 in 15.2 overs (Suryakumar Yadav 82*, Ishan Kishan 76)

With this victory, India solidifies its dominance in the series, with three matches left to play.
