A vehicle crashed into the entrance of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport on Friday evening, impacting a ticket counter and injuring six individuals, as confirmed by airport officials.
The Wayne County Airport Authority reported that the driver was apprehended following the incident. The exact cause of the collision remains unclear, and airport police are currently investigating.
Emergency teams from the WCAA Fire Department provided on-site treatment to the six injured parties. Their current conditions have not been publicly revealed.
Social media footage captured a blue four-door sedan halted inside the terminal vicinity, close to the Delta Air Lines counters, with its doors ajar and debris scattered around. Police tape cordoned off the area.
Authorities have yet to disclose the name of the detained driver. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain whether the crash was a result of negligence or intentional action.
