Hims and Hers Brings Weight-Loss Treatments to the UK With New Membership Plans

Post by : Saif Nasser

Online telehealth company Hims and Hers Health has announced that it is expanding its weight-loss services to the United Kingdom. The move marks an important step for the company as it enters a rapidly growing market for medical weight-loss treatments. Until now, Hims and Hers mainly offered sexual health, skincare, and hair-loss products for men in the UK. With this new service, the company aims to reach a wider group of people looking for safe and supervised weight-loss options.

The new UK program will include well-known drugs like Wegovy, made by Novo Nordisk, and Mounjaro, produced by Eli Lilly. These medicines have gained global attention because they help people lose weight by controlling appetite and improving how the body handles sugar. Hims and Hers will also offer Orlos, a cheaper, over-the-counter option that contains the active ingredient orlistat.

The company said that the weight-loss membership will start at 149 pounds per month for customers who sign up for a one-year plan. This subscription model is similar to what Hims already offers in the United States. Patients first complete a clinical assessment and, if approved, receive a personalized prescription along with regular follow-up healthcare support. This system helps ensure the medicines are used safely and correctly.

Earlier this year, Hims and Hers strengthened its position in Europe by buying Zava, a London-based telehealth firm that already prescribes and delivers weight-loss drugs across the UK, Germany, France, and Ireland. This acquisition made it easier for Hims to bring its popular US style of online healthcare to European customers.

One reason the company expects strong demand in the UK is the price difference between countries. Weight-loss drugs like Wegovy and Mounjaro cost much less in Britain than in the United States. For example, UK online pharmacies list these drugs for 109 to 149 pounds per month, while in the US, they typically cost $199 to $449 per month. Even after Eli Lilly raised the list price of Zepbound earlier this year, it still remains cheaper in the UK compared to American prices.

However, access through the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) has been limited due to demand, costs, and supply shortages. This has pushed many people to look for private options. With its online model and lower prices, Hims and Hers hopes to make weight-loss medications easier and more convenient for people who cannot get them through the NHS.

The company says its UK model focuses on safety, clinical supervision, and patient convenience. After an online assessment, patients can receive their medication through home delivery along with ongoing support to manage side effects, adjust doses, and monitor progress. This system aims to combine medical guidance with the simplicity of telehealth services.

The launch of these treatments in the UK shows how fast the weight-loss drug market is growing worldwide. As more people turn to medical options to manage obesity, companies like Hims and Hers are rushing to offer easier access to trusted drugs.

For now, the company believes that its subscription plan, clinical support, and lower UK pricing will help it attract thousands of new customers. As demand for weight-loss medications continues to rise globally, Hims and Hers is preparing to become a major player in this expanding field.
