At the grand kickoff of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 in Navi Mumbai, former Miss Universe and emerging actress Harnaaz Sandhu had a touching reunion with Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of the Indian women’s cricket team.

This memorable encounter occurred at Dr. DY Patil Stadium, where the season's festivities began on January 9, uniting prominent figures from both the sporting and entertainment fields.

Harnaaz showcased a radiant moment with Harmanpreet on Instagram, donning an elegant golden outfit while Harmanpreet confidently sported her Mumbai Indians jersey. As returning champions, the Mumbai Indians are eager to reclaim their title.

Accompanying the image, Harnaaz penned a heartfelt message about their mutual identities and experiences: “Punjab raised us, India shaped us, and the world & universe became our stage. Honoured to catch up with Captain @imharmanpreet_kaur today! Chak de phatte @wplt20,” highlighting the pride they share in their Punjabi roots as well as their journey to fame.

The opening ceremony of WPL 2026 dazzled audiences with a mix of entertainment and sport, featuring captivating performances from Yo Yo Honey Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Harnaaz Sandhu, setting an exciting atmosphere for the new season.

Harnaaz's appearance added a layer of glamour to the event, particularly as she advances her film career following her debut last year in Baaghi 4, sharing the screen with stars like Tiger Shroff and Sunjay Dutt.
