A recent case of Hantavirus has surfaced in Spain, as a patient tested positive while undergoing preventive quarantine at a Madrid hospital, according to the Health Ministry.
The individual is reported to have had close contact with someone from the initial outbreak. Currently, they are under medical observation and isolation at Gómez Ulla Hospital in Madrid.
Health officials noted that the patient was already under preventive surveillance prior to the positive test. Medical staff are rigorously monitoring the patient's health while adhering to all precautionary protocols.
The Health Ministry has indicated that this case is linked to the earlier outbreak, and health teams are actively engaged in surveillance efforts to curb any potential spread of the virus.
Hantavirus is a rare viral illness that can spread through exposure to infected rodents or their waste. So far, no further information regarding the patient's condition has been disclosed by authorities.
