Hanoi Enhances Defense Collaboration Efforts

Post by : Shakul

In a significant meeting held in Hanoi, senior military and political leaders convened to assess the effectiveness of coordination between the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission and the Hanoi City Party Committee during 2023.

The conference, co-chaired by Politburo member and Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang along with Politburo member and Hanoi City Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang, saw participation from senior officials across military agencies, ministries, and local governance. The key focus was on bolstering defense and security collaborations within the capital.

Reports from the meeting indicated a proactive synergy between both parties, resulting in the successful execution of party resolutions, state laws, and national defense policies alongside socio-economic initiatives in Hanoi. This cooperation has significantly reinforced political stability and elevated the city’s defense readiness in recent years.

The discussions underscored efforts aimed at creating a fortified national defense framework integrated with public security and local defense zones in Hanoi. Improvement in the management of defense land for critical infrastructure was also a focal point, alongside maintaining military and security imperatives.

During his address, General Phan Van Giang called on military units in Hanoi to vigilantly oversee security dynamics, ensuring preparedness for any defensive or military challenges. He highlighted the necessity for developing prompt response strategies to safeguard political venues, crucial national sites, and major public gatherings in the capital.

The Defense Minister further urged a more cohesive approach between defense strategies and socio-economic development to align with Hanoi's long-term growth objectives. Future urban planning must effectively intertwine economic advancement with fortified defense measures to carve out a safer and more resilient city.

In his address, Hanoi Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang emphasized the significance of enhancing local military capabilities at the commune and ward levels. There was a call for stronger development in reserve forces, local militia frameworks, and greater community engagement in defense initiatives.

Moreover, Tran Duc Thang reaffirmed the commitment to promote social welfare policies aimed at military personnel and their families. He urged local entities to assist returning soldiers with job placements, housing projects, and community reintegration, as well as giving particular attention to veterans and families who have contributed to national defense.

Participants of the conference concurred that the ongoing collaboration between military agencies and Hanoi’s authorities is crucial for sustaining political stability, maintaining public safety, and fostering sustainable development in Vietnam’s capital. Leaders committed to enhancing coordination frameworks in the years to come to fortify Hanoi’s overall defense resilience.
