The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB) successfully wrapped up the inaugural Gulf Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Civil Service on Thursday. This event was centered on exploring pioneering solutions aimed at boosting the efficiency and effectiveness of civil service systems throughout Gulf nations. Partnered with the Sultanate of Oman, this forum was part of ongoing initiatives by the Technical Committee for Civil Service and Human Resources Affairs within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Attendees included CGB's Director General, Saif bin Ali Al Kaabi, along with senior figures from various ministries and civil service agencies. The forum also gathered experts and employees from human resources and information systems sectors, creating a knowledge-sharing platform showcasing successful digital transformation examples across the region.

The primary aim of the forum was to illustrate how AI technologies can facilitate more efficient governmental operations. Discussions underscored the importance of enhancing administrative adaptability, refining public services, and endorsing smart institutional evolution within civil service sectors. Practical demonstrations of AI applications in areas such as workflow management, employee evaluation, hiring processes, and service provision to citizens were showcased.

Various Gulf entities shared their success stories during the event, illustrating how digital solutions have been applied to civil service roles. These presentations highlighted the capacity of innovative technologies to minimize manual tasks, streamline operations, and cultivate a more responsive governance model. A panel discussion engaged in deliberating the prospective impacts of AI on the future of civil service, focusing on addressing challenges in human resource management and institutional functionality.

The forum concluded with several recommendations for GCC nations, notably emphasizing the strengthening of digital integration regionally, enabling governments to exchange successful AI deployment models and best practices. Another significant recommendation was to foster the foundation of a Gulf network dedicated to sharing knowledge and expertise in AI, facilitating more effective adoption of smart systems across public institutions.

Furthermore, there was a strong emphasis on cultivating partnerships among various institutions in the GCC to endorse innovation within government services, aiding the transition towards smart and adaptive administrative frameworks. Participants reached a consensus that collaborative efforts, knowledge sharing, and the integration of advanced technologies would empower Gulf jurisdictions to establish a more sustainable and contemporary civil service structure.

The First Gulf Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Civil Service represented a pivotal advance toward digital modernization in governmental sectors across the GCC. By emphasizing practical applications, fostering knowledge exchange, and crafting actionable recommendations, the forum established a foundation for a smarter and more efficient civil service in the region.

This event underlines the GCC's unwavering dedication to harnessing contemporary technologies to enhance governance, improve service delivery, and bolster institutional efficiency. The forum's successful outcome affirms AI's central role in shaping the future of public administration while ensuring governments stay agile, responsive, and focused on citizen needs.
