The Abu Dhabi Crisis, Emergencies and Disasters Management Centre (ADCMC) has officially launched a Coordination and Monitoring Centre in the Al Dhafra Region to bolster emergency readiness and response efforts.
Al Dhafra stands as one of Abu Dhabi's largest and most strategically significant areas. This new facility aims to enable quicker and more effective interventions during emergencies by expanding ADCMC’s field operations and refining coordination efforts throughout the region.
This initiative is part of ADCMC’s broader agenda to improve crisis management across the emirate, taking into account the distinct geographical and environmental attributes of each region.
His Excellency Dr Abdulla Hamarain Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of the Response and Recovery Sector at ADCMC, emphasized that this initiative marks a pivotal advancement. He underscored the need for a tailored approach to emergency preparedness and coordination, given Al Dhafra’s extensive space, environmental variations, and economic significance.
Dr Al Dhaheri further explained that this initiative represents a transition from a fully centralised crisis response system to a more distributed model, placing capabilities nearer to where incidents are likely to occur. This facilitates faster decision-making and more efficient on-scene response.
Additionally, this activation enhances ADCMC’s mission to forge an integrated and adaptable crisis management framework. It improves collaboration with partners and stakeholders, fortifying Abu Dhabi's capacity to safeguard its residents, infrastructure, and economy against possible emergencies and disasters.
