On December 3, 2025, Abu Dhabi will host the exhilarating Eid Al Etihad 40ft Rowing Race, a vibrant celebration of UAE’s maritime legacy. This event marks the UAE's 54th Eid Al Etihad and promises a thrilling showcase of teamwork and tradition.
Notably, this year’s race coincides with the announcement of the Zayed National Museum’s opening in the Saadiyat Cultural District. The nautical course spans three miles, starting from Reem Island and featuring significant landmarks like the Zayed National Museum and the Natural History Museum before concluding near Louvre Abu Dhabi.
With 68 boats and 1,156 sailors competing in four rounds each representing a color of the UAE flag, the competition is set to be fierce. The event includes a grand total of AED2.4 million in prize money, with winners receiving AED80,000 and a golden boat replica, AED70,000 with a silver replica for second place, and AED60,000 along with a bronze replica for third place.
This rowing race not only highlights premier athletic skills but also embodies the core values of Emirati culture—teamwork, perseverance, and community engagement. By uniting seasoned sailors with youngsters, it fosters a spirit of national pride on the water.
The Eid Al Etihad Rowing Race exemplifies Abu Dhabi's dedication to conserving traditional maritime sports while providing a spectacular experience that brings together citizens and residents in celebration.
