The second edition of the Dubai Premier Padel P1 came to an exciting conclusion yesterday at the Hamdan Sports Complex, marking a significant milestone in the international padel calendar. This tournament showcased elite athletes and drew enthusiastic audiences, reinforcing Dubai's status as a burgeoning global sports hub.
After a week filled with competitive matches, Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello emerged victorious in the men's category, while Claudia Fernandez and Bia Gonzalez took the women's title. The finals were electrifying, with the venue packed as fans witnessed high-caliber play. Bia Gonzalez’s extraordinary performance earned her the Oysho MVP Award, while Agustín Tapia received the DAMAC MVP for his contributions on the court.
His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, was on hand to present the trophies to the winners. Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Association, also attended, celebrating the tournament's success alongside players, officials, and supporters.
Under the patronage of Sheikh Mansoor, this tournament was organized by Gallop Global, in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), and the UAE Padel Association (UAEPA). The event has solidified its place as a premier international sporting occasion, attracting top-tier players from the Premier Padel circuit.
This year saw significant enhancements to the Hamdan Sports Complex, which was transformed into a padel arena. The facility’s 10-lane Olympic swimming pool was repurposed to host the event, accommodating 8,000 spectators and becoming the largest indoor padel venue in the MENA region. The new setup included four professional-grade courts, greatly enhancing amenities for both fans and media. This transformation underscores Dubai's ability to repurpose existing infrastructure for high-stakes sporting events.
Ivan Modia, CEO of Gallop Global and Tournament Director for the Dubai Premier Padel P1, remarked, “The Dubai Premier Padel P1 has reached new heights this year. The packed arenas and vibrant fan engagement clearly illustrate how Dubai is swiftly becoming a global hub for world-class sports and entertainment. The conversion of the Hamdan Sports Complex into the largest indoor padel stadium in MENA exemplifies Dubai’s ambitious innovation. This event has set a new standard for the sport, and we are thrilled to contribute to the growth of padel in the UAE and globally.”
The tournament attracted prominent international talent, reflecting the rising global popularity of padel and Dubai’s status as an elite sports destination. Spectators were treated to exciting matches, remarkable athleticism, and a vibrant atmosphere all week long.
Following this year’s success, the Dubai Premier Padel P1 is slated to return in 2026, continuing its legacy as a flagship Middle Eastern event and a key feature on the Premier Padel global tour, advancing the sport while solidifying Dubai's position as a world-class sports city.
