Dubai Unveils 3rd Create Apps Championship to Enhance Digital Innovation

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Dubai is making significant strides in its digital transformation with the unveiling of the third edition of the ‘Create Apps Championship’. This initiative, part of the Create Apps in Dubai program, builds upon the achievements of its predecessors, which attracted over 5,800 applications and led to the launch of more than 55 smart applications.

The championship is designed to discover, support, and nurture the growth of innovative thinkers, creating a setting where creativity converges with technology. This year features thrilling new components and funding prospects to enhance its impact.

New Features and Funding Opportunities

An exciting addition is the ‘Longevity App of the Year’ award, aimed at recognizing solutions that enhance health, wellness, and lifestyle through inventive digital applications. This initiative supports the UAE's broader goal of building a sustainable and forward-looking society.

Participants can also benefit from the newly launched Alumni Accelerator Programme, designed to assist promising teams in refining their concepts, enabling them to launch fully developed applications. This includes access to mentorship, training, and a dedicated space to expedite their projects.

Competition Categories and Financial Support

The championship includes four primary categories:

  • Best Youth App

  • Most Impactful App

  • Most Innovative App

  • Longevity App of the Year

Funding amounts exceed AED 2.5 million, with winners in three categories each receiving over AED 550,000 to develop their apps. The overall ‘App of the Year’ winner, determined by public vote, will secure AED 1 million to bring their project to life.

Driving the Digital Future of Dubai

Dubai is reinforcing its status as a global center for digital innovation. With cutting-edge infrastructure, flexible legal frameworks, and a nurturing business environment, the emirate is fostering an ecosystem that draws in talent and stimulates innovation.

The Create Apps Championship is now open for registrations, offering an extraordinary opportunity for innovators from around the globe to transform their ideas into impactful digital solutions.
