The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has successfully wrapped up its trade mission to Ethiopia following an impressive 510 bilateral meetings in Addis Ababa, connecting Dubai-based companies with local Ethiopian businesses.
These meetings opened doors for collaboration across a variety of crucial sectors such as automotive, construction, electronics, FMCG, and pharmaceuticals among others.
This milestone of 510 B2B meetings is the highest recorded since the inception of the chamber's “New Horizons” initiative in 2023, a program designed to facilitate global expansion for Dubai firms and enhance trade relations.
In conjunction with the UAE Embassy in Ethiopia, the chamber held the 'Dubai–Ethiopia Business Connect' forum, which was supported by the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations as well as other local entities.
The forum attracted a robust attendance of 669 participants, including government officials, corporate leaders, and potential investors, focusing on fostering trade partnerships and exploring investment avenues.
Distinguished attendees included H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and other government representatives from both nations.
Lootah expressed a firm commitment to bolstering economic ties between Dubai and Ethiopia, emphasizing the mission's role in facilitating international growth for Dubai enterprises while boosting Seoul's non-oil trade sector.
Reportedly, non-oil trade relations reached AED 22.3 billion in 2025, reflecting an extraordinary 236.6% growth year-on-year.
The chamber also noted the registration of 91 new Ethiopian businesses in the first quarter of 2026, raising the active Ethiopian member companies to 1,676 by the end of March.
During the event, the Dubai Chamber showcased the benefits of its business climate and how Ethiopian companies could leverage Dubai as a key gateway to wider markets.
The trade mission featured participants from 21 Dubai firms across various industries, signaling a deepening economic partnership between Dubai and Ethiopia.
