Dubai is enhancing its economic relationship with Serbia through a strategic roundtable where business leaders and officials convened to discuss fresh opportunities for trade and investment. The gathering, held at the Dubai Chambers' headquarters, included key figures such as Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers; Stevan Nikčević, State Secretary of Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade; and Vladimir Marić, the Serbian Ambassador to the UAE.
The talks underscored potential across various sectors, including construction, energy, information technology, agri-food, healthcare, fintech, industrial automation, and transportation. Both parties explored methods to expand bilateral trade, promote joint ventures, and create sustainable business opportunities for communities in Dubai and Serbia.
The attractiveness of Dubai for Serbian investors is highlighted by the fact that 83 new Serbian firms registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in the first nine months of 2024, raising the total to 293 active Serbian businesses. Additionally, the non-oil trade between the countries surged by 44 percent year-on-year, amounting to around AED336 million.
Experts observe that these developments reflect a larger trend of Dubai establishing itself as a leading global investment hub, drawing in businesses from various markets and nurturing mutually rewarding international alliances.
