Dubai, UAE – dnata is leading the charge in operational excellence at the Dubai Airshow 2025, putting into service over 100 ground support vehicles designed to safely and efficiently transport aircraft throughout both static and flying displays at Dubai World Central (DWC).
The extensive fleet includes around 111 motorised assets such as aircraft pushback tractors, ground power units, passenger steps, and air conditioning units—essential for the seamless operation during this week-long event.
Supporting an event of this magnitude necessitates detailed logistics coordination. dnata effectively handles the movement of heavy ground equipment between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and DWC while ensuring uninterrupted regular airport operations. This logistical feat is achieved through dnata Technical Services’ fleet of articulated trucks and low-bed trailers.
The Airshow also emphasizes dnata’s dedication to sustainable practices. As part of the oneDXB Sustainability Alliance, 14 vehicles are specifically allocated to a sustainability-themed display, featuring electric pushback tractors, loaders, passenger steps, and a solar-powered boarding ramp. Many of these environmentally-friendly assets are already operational in Dubai, contributing to decreased emissions, noise, and on-ground fuel consumption.
Innovation is not just confined to electric vehicles. dnata is also showcasing autonomous baggage tractors, AI-powered detection cameras to enhance loader safety, and autonomous docking systems for large aircraft like the A380. These advanced technologies are either in live use or trial phases, showcasing how innovation can improve safety and operational efficiency.
This participation in the Airshow aligns with dnata’s robust global performance. In the first half of 2025, the company reported handling 450,903 aircraft turns, which represents a 15% year-on-year increase, and managed 1.59 million tonnes of cargo, marking a 3% rise. Additionally, dnata has invested $110 million this year to expand its ground support fleet in markets including the UAE, USA, Brazil, Italy, and Singapore.
Through the integration of electric, hybrid, and bio-diesel technologies, dnata is making strides toward lower-carbon operations, successfully merging environmental objectives with reliable service in demanding, high-temperature settings such as Dubai.
dnata’s involvement in the Dubai Airshow 2025 exemplifies both the accuracy of daily airport management and a forward-thinking mindset towards sustainable aviation, solidifying its position as a global frontrunner in ground support services.
