Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar Set to Premiere on Friday Amid Sluggish Advance Sales

Post by : Mina Rahman

The highly anticipated spy thriller, Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, is set to hit theaters globally on Friday, December 5. The film, located in the gangster-infested area of Lyari in Pakistan, features a stellar cast including Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Akshaye Khanna. Following a well-received trailer, it has generated considerable excitement.

Advance ticket sales, which opened on Monday, quickly exceeded ₹1 crore. However, they have seen a downturn in recent days. As of Wednesday afternoon, the film had amassed ₹2.28 crore from advance bookings for its opening day, translating to approximately 50,000 tickets sold nationwide. It is anticipated that numbers will rise as additional screenings are scheduled closer to the release date.

While initial estimates suggested Dhurandhar could achieve one of the year's largest Hindi film openings, potentially eclipsing titles like Chhaava and War 2, current trends point to a more restrained launch. Industry analysts now project a first-day collection ranging from ₹18-20 crore net in India, with some projecting a more conservative ₹15 crore. Although this would be less than the year's peak openings, such as Saiyaara (₹21.50 crore) and Chhaava (₹31 crore), the film is still poised for a strong box office showing.

Dhurandhar will be released across 5,000 screens in India, promising fans an action-packed cinema experience this weekend.
