In Yemen, deadly air strikes carried out by Israel have now killed 46 people and injured 165 others. The attacks took place in the capital city, Sanaa, and in the northern province of al-Jawf. These strikes are part of a growing conflict between Israel and the Houthis, an armed group that is supported by Iran.
The Houthis control much of Yemen’s most populated areas and have been involved in fighting with different countries. Recently, they have also attacked ships in the Red Sea and launched missiles toward Israel to show support for the Palestinians in Gaza.
The strikes began on Wednesday and caused serious damage in the affected areas. The Health Ministry run by the Houthis confirmed that 46 people had been killed, and more than 165 were injured.
Israel’s military said the strikes were carried out in response to attacks from the Houthis. According to Israel, drones and missiles were sent toward Israeli territory, and the military acted to stop these threats.
Earlier that day, Israel’s defense forces said they intercepted two launches from Yemen – a drone and a missile – preventing them from reaching their target. The Houthis later confirmed they had launched the attack in response to what they called Israeli aggression.
The Houthis are an armed group that has been controlling large parts of Yemen for many years. They are supported by Iran, and they have been fighting against the Yemeni government and other forces.
The group is responsible for attacking ships in the Red Sea, a major waterway for international trade. They say these attacks are in support of the Palestinians and their struggle in Gaza.
The Houthis have also fired many missiles toward Israel. Most of these missiles were intercepted before causing harm, but Israel responded by attacking Houthi-controlled areas, including the important port city of Hodeidah.
These recent air strikes came after a previous attack on August 30, where Israel targeted the Yemeni capital, Sanaa. In that attack, Yemen’s prime minister and several top officials were killed. This was the first time that senior leaders of the Houthi-run government had been attacked.
Now, both sides are escalating their actions. Israel says it is defending itself from attacks by the Houthis. On the other hand, the Houthis say their attacks are a response to Israeli aggression and are part of their efforts to support the Palestinians.
The situation in Yemen is worrying many countries because it is spreading the violence from Gaza to other parts of the Middle East. The strikes have also drawn attention to the growing relationship between Iran and the Houthis.
The United Nations and other global organizations are concerned that the conflict could become worse and involve more countries.
The attacks have made life very difficult for the people living in Sanaa and other parts of Yemen. Many families are injured, and hospitals are struggling to care for the wounded. Roads are damaged, and basic supplies like food and medicine are hard to find.
For many years, Yemen has been dealing with war and poverty, and these new attacks are making it even harder for families to survive.
Israel has said it is only acting in self-defense. It wants to stop attacks from drones and missiles that could harm its people and damage its infrastructure.
However, experts say that these attacks could increase tensions in the region and make it harder to reach peace between Israel and its neighbors.
For Yemen, the situation is very dangerous. The attacks are causing more destruction and making life unbearable for ordinary people. Yemen’s hospitals, schools, and homes are under strain.
The conflict is also making it harder for Yemen to rebuild after years of war and poverty.
