Explosion at Chhattisgarh Steel Plant Claims 6 Lives, 5 Injured

Chhattisgarh: On Thursday, an explosion at a steel plant in Balodabazar–Bhatapara district tragically resulted in the deaths of six workers, while five others were gravely injured, according to officials.

The explosion took place in the dust settling chamber of the plant, leading to grave injuries and fatalities. District Collector Deepak Soni confirmed that six workers died at the scene, with five suffering serious injuries.

State Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal stated that he has coordinated with district officials to ensure the injured receive top-notch medical care. He also called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident and insisted on accountability for those found at fault.

Emergency response teams, including police and administrative personnel, quickly arrived at the scene and initiated rescue efforts. The injured were transported to the Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) in Bilaspur for urgent treatment.

The state government has pledged full support to the families affected by this tragic event.
