Post by : Bianca Suleiman

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan recognized the exemplary winners of the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance during a formal ceremony at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

The gathering saw the presence of distinguished leaders and officials, including Sheikh Khalid bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Dr Ahmed Mubarak bin Nawi Al Mazrouei, and Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, along with department heads and members of the award jury.

These awards celebrate government entities that demonstrate excellence, innovation, and enhancement in public service delivery. The honorees were acknowledged for their commitment to implementing best practices, improving efficiency, and offering high-standard services, aligning with Abu Dhabi’s objectives and enhancing its global competitiveness.

Sheikh Khaled asserted that the awards epitomize the leadership's commitment to fostering a robust culture of excellence, innovation, and competitive spirit within governmental institutions. He emphasized that such endeavors are vital in evolving government services to be more anticipatory and responsive to public needs.

In this award cycle, a total of 37 entities and 103 collaborative initiatives were assessed across six distinct categories. Among these were three Excellence Awards designated for leading government departments and three awards honoring joint projects that encourage collaboration and innovation.

The evaluation process involved over 90 experts from local and international backgrounds, supported by a technical and grand jury. They employed advanced AI technology to ensure a precise and impartial evaluation of both performance and impact.

In the Excellence Awards category, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi claimed the top position, recognized for significant milestones such as decreasing infant mortality rates from 6.8 to 3.8 per 1,000 births in the last two years and achieving a notable IVF success rate of 56%.

Abu Dhabi Police secured the second position owing to its effective governance and community outreach initiatives. Their “We Are All Police” campaign engaged over 80,000 volunteers representing 160 nationalities, while the force successfully reduced emergency response times to an average of 6.25 minutes in 2025.

Ranking third was the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, noted for driving tourism development, amplifying visitor attendance, and globally promoting Emirati culture. Their endeavors led to the inclusion of three new cultural elements on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

In the category of Collaborative Initiatives Awards, several impactful projects were recognized. The Strategic Impact Initiative Award was bestowed upon the Department of Health’s Centres of Excellence program along with the Abu Dhabi Census project by the Statistics Centre, which utilized 38 million records from 29 entities to develop a dynamic digital population database.

The Digital and Artificial Intelligence Initiative Award went to TAMM 3.0 from the Department of Government Enablement and the Abu Dhabi Child Insights System created by the Early Childhood Authority. TAMM 3.0 provides over 1,100 services across 40 entities, catering to 3.3 million users and utilizing AI to manage approximately 1.9 million inquiries annually.

The Child Insights System harnesses data from more than 14 government bodies to enhance service delivery and offer predictive analytics for policy development.

The Community and Family Impact Initiative Award recognized the Al Falah Development Initiative from the Department of Community Development. This project involved 13 partners and 86 stakeholders, executing 24 programs within six months and positively impacting the quality of life for 67,000 residents in Al Falah.

These awards underscore Abu Dhabi’s unwavering dedication to elevating government performance, fostering innovation, and enhancing public service delivery.
