On Sunday, Beringrive United from the UAE etched their name in history by winning the inaugural Asian Minifootball Clubs Championship. They achieved a 4–3 victory against Lebanon’s Al-Ata’a in a nail-biting final held in Jakarta. The decisive goal came in the final moments, making this victory truly unforgettable for the UAE club.
Both teams showcased intense energy and competitive spirit throughout the match. Beringrive United began confidently, while Al-Ata’a matched their efforts and never backed down. The back-and-forth nature of the match kept fans both in the stadium and watching globally on the edge of their seats.
As the match neared its conclusion, the score remained tied at 3–3, leading to a tense atmosphere. Just when extra time seemed imminent, Beringrive United seized a last-gasp opportunity and scored the winning goal, allowing them to lift the much-coveted trophy. Yousuf Ali was pivotal in this remarkable victory, finding the back of the net twice and inspiring his teammates with outstanding performances. He, along with Ahmed Hassan and Adam Ibrahim, who also netted crucial goals, demonstrated exceptional teamwork and poise under pressure during the match.
Running from November 17 to 23, the championship in Jakarta hosted 12 teams from various Asian nations. The teams were arranged into three groups, competing for a chance to advance to the quarter-finals. The top two teams from each group, alongside the best-performing third-placed teams, progressed, enhancing the competition’s excitement.
Beringrive United's journey to the final was a testament to their teamwork, tactical planning, and skillful play. Their consistent confidence throughout the tournament allowed them to confront formidable opponents across Asia successfully.
