120 Bahadur Takes the Lead Against Mastiii 4: A Third-Day Box Office Overview

Post by : Mina Rahman

The box office showdown between 120 Bahadur and Mastiii 4 is intensifying, with both films showcasing early weekend strength. On its third day, 120 Bahadur garnered Rs 4 crore, surpassing Mastiii 4's Rs 3 crore. To date, 120 Bahadur has accumulated Rs 10.1 crore in India, while Mastiii 4 has earned Rs 8.5 crore.

Analyzing Hindi occupancy as of November 23, 120 Bahadur achieved an overall rate of 16.50%. With morning shows attracting 7.90%, afternoon slots at 18.74%, evening showings at 24.60%, and night screenings at 14.76%, the film displayed solid attendance. Meanwhile, Mastiii 4 reported an overall occupancy of 12.61%, with morning figures at 5.59%, afternoons at 12.91%, evenings at 17.02%, and nights at 14.93%.

Directed by Razneesh Ghai, 120 Bahadur dramatizes the Battle of Rezang La, a pivotal moment from the Sino-Indian War in 1962. The narrative revolves around the courage of 120 soldiers from the 13 Kumaon Regiment’s Charlie Company as they confronted a formidable Chinese force of approximately 3,000 on November 18, 1962. Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, portrayed by Farhan Akhtar, is at the helm, joined by Raashii Khanna as Shagun Kanwar Singh, along with actors like Ankit Siwach, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, and Sahib Verma. The film deftly intertwines historical context, patriotism, and action, honoring the valor of the soldiers.

On the other hand, Mastiii 4, helmed by Milap Milan Zaveri, continues the successful adult-comedy franchise, originally launched with Masti in 2004, followed by Grand Masti in 2013 and Great Grand Masti in 2016. This fourth part retains the series’ hallmark blend of humor and risqué comedy, with Riteish Deshmukh reprising his role alongside Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Arshad Warsi, Elnaaz Norouzi, Nargis Fakhri, and Tusshar Kapoor, not forgetting Genelia D’Souza's special cameo. Targeting an audience that revels in lighthearted adult humor, Mastiii 4 seeks to echo the achievements of its predecessors.

As both films maintain their theatrical presence, 120 Bahadur currently enjoys an advantage in terms of both earnings and occupancy, though Mastiii 4's dedicated fanbase could keep the rivalry dynamic. Industry analysts will be closely monitoring the upcoming weekdays to determine which film sustains its appeal and continues to attract viewers.
