Dubai Metro Celebrates UAE Founders with Artistic Tribute

Dubai Metro Celebrates UAE Founders with Artistic Tribute

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Transforming the Red Line into a canvas of patriotism, Brand Dubai, the creative branch of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has launched a compelling visual tribute to the UAE’s Founding Fathers. This striking display runs from Centrepoint station to Expo 2020 station, capturing the attention of countless commuters and visitors daily.

The installation showcases images of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, paired with verses from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's poem, 'The People and the Leader.' This project is part of Dubai’s ‘National Month’ celebrations and represents the second phase of the #ZayedAndRashid initiative.

In partnership with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the visuals integrate organically with one of the city’s renowned symbols of modern transport. The metro carriages now serve as a distinctive reminder of the leadership values that have guided the nation’s progress, aligning with the RTA’s goal to foster national identity throughout public transit.

This project embodies the unity and collaboration that characterized the inception of the Union. For many commuters, it provides a valuable pause for reflection amidst their busy schedules, linking Dubai’s dynamic present with its rich history.

The metro’s initiative is part of a broader array of celebrations for National Month across Dubai, which include the vibrant Flag Garden at Umm Suqeim Beach and impactful artworks adorning the DIFC’s Gate Building, along with various cultural and community activities taking place citywide until December 2.

By merging creativity, heritage, and public participation, the tribute on Dubai Metro significantly enhances the city’s celebrations, transforming routine journeys into a powerful reminder of the UAE’s lasting national narrative.
